If your main goal is content creation for social media, like podcasting, reviews, unboxing, or education-style videos, this is not your space. Our focus is making films meant to be watched as stories and experienced as cinema.

Our shared goal is to keep making movies, learning, and evolving as filmmakers. Our vision for Independent Filmmaking is to make it more accessible to everyone by continually providing more tools and empowering collaboration. We are actively developing cool projects, including:
- A directory of freelancers for indie filmmaking.
- A script marketplace for indie films.
- A job board for collaborations.
- An online distribution platform that allows filmmakers to build their own audience and own their box office, allowing them to keep most of the profits and keep making movies.
Our first rule is clear: no 100% AI films are permitted.
Storytelling is a human device for understanding and interacting with the world. We believe that Artificial Intelligence (AI) might play a supportive role in helping humans develop and bring these stories to the screen. This could range from debating ideas during the ideation stage to discussing how to execute certain aspects, and even helping generate mind-blowing VFX.
However, nothing comes without a trade-off. It is a difficult line to draw between human artistry and expression and computer-generated work, especially considering the risks of intellectual property breach and blatant copying with generative AI.
Therefore, our policy requires that you do not submit AI films to the community or challenges. If you use AI tools, its use must be minimal—like everything else, use with caution.
Yes! Collaboration is a key focus of our Community. You can either post a request or directly contact other members in the community who have complementary skills.
The community provides a structured environment to deepen your craft and get your movie made. You can connect with other filmmakers, get inspired, share your struggles and wins, discuss your favorite gear, movies, scenes, and directors, and exchange knowledge on cool techniques.

A career in Hollywood is a legitimate aspiration. Our community focuses on making great movies with limited resources, which fundamentally requires a similar set of skills needed for Hollywood. Here, our focus is on how to bypass gatekeepers and achieve independence. While we don’t offer a specific Hollywood-focused pathway, making great independent movies is often a great way to build a reputation and get noticed.

The traditional career path for professional screenwriters or cinematographers often involves working for studios or on ongoing series, which is only achieved by a select few.
